Start writing your contents. By this time, your head must be whirling with so many ideas that you would like to put in a book. To organize your thoughts, break it down into the following:
Theme of your book: What is your book about? How is it different? What will your readers gain from it?
Establishing your theme early on will help you have focus in what you are doing. This theme will also be the anchor for the title of your book. You can start playing with some titles in your mind. Write each idea that comes to mind. Do not worry if the "It" title just doesn't come in yet.
Major Topics: What are the chapters of your book? Organize them into proper order.
Sub topics: What would be the other minor topics that will help complete your book.

You are not limited by the number of pages. People buying e-books expect a decent number of pages. A 20-page e-book, unless it has top-secret contents will not be appealing to buyers. Strive to have at least 80 to 100 pages.
Compile your e-book - If you are using a compiler, this is the step when you convert your document into an executable file. You can edit, re-edit, recompile as often as you need to.
Set up your Sales website - You can actually start selling your e-book without a website but it is going to be harder. There are e-book dealers that would agree to sell your e-book in exchange for commissions. You can also consider this option but a drawback that I see here is that you do not really have control over the marketing of your e-book. Unless your are Dan Brown of the Da Vinci Code fame, you will not find your title at the top of the heap. So my personal suggestion is for you to create a website to sell your book.

You do not need to create a full website. Ministes are incredibly useful for selling e-books. Visit the section on how to build a mini sales site for tips.
However, if you would like to have a full-blown website with other contents, you may refer to how to build a website for business.
Have e-covers for your book
Note that most e-books are presented with e-covers, even though they do not actually have covers. Research has shown that digital covers actually increase the sales of the book by as much as 300%.
To give you an example, which book would you consider buying? (Assuming you are interested in the topic:)

Visuals are very powerful so try to have e-covers for your book. Here are some of the more popular e-cover software:
Cover Software Pro - This software allows you to make an unlimited amount of 3D covers. Note that some vendors offer their service for as much as $97 per cover.
Web Graphics Creator - This is a three-in-one software. You can also use the Art center to create graphics for your website. The E-book Cover program is part of the suite.
Killer Covers - This is a cover graphics service. If you want exclusive, custom made order, this service is suitable for you.
Prepare your e-book for download. For your ebook to be made available to the public, you must upload the file to your server so the users can download your book. You normally use the File Manager to upload files. When you sign up for web hosting, your web host gives you instructions on where to upload your site. You can use the same directory to upload your ebook.
To give you an example: Let's say I have an e-book called "Super Profits" which I want to put in my site www.clixbiz.com. My webfiles are in the directory www/var/html.
To upload my Super Profits, I will go to this directory www/var/html and upload my file named superprofits.exe.
My download instructions would then be www.clixbiz.com/superproftits.exe. When users click this link, they will be taken to the dialog box where they can choose whether to open or save the file.
This is just for illustration purposes. The best way is to consult your web host for specific instructions.
Prepare to accept payment in your site. If your ebook is for sale, you must definitely accept credit card payments in your site. This is discussed in detail in how to accept credit card payments in your site.
Start selling your e-book. This is the most exciting part of your the process. Since you have a website, you can use any or all of the tools in the Guide to Internet Marketing to promote your site.
